Volunteers needed: Friendly
The Marshfield Council on Aging needs volunteers for its Friendly Visitor Program Would you be interested in going out to the community to visit with home-bound seniors? Depending on the needs of the senior, a visit will consist of a one or two hour weekly meet or even a friendly phone call. Some of the activities might include: Playing cards or a game, making a craft, baking, watching a tv show, taking a walk, or simply sit and talk.

On Sunday, February 25, 2018, at the
bi-annual meeting, the Open and Affirming Welcoming Statement was approved unanimously by the congregation. The Welcoming Statement does not replace our beloved purpose covenant written in the 1990’s and read monthly before communion; It stands unedited.
The welcoming statement is a public statement for those outside our congregation, leaving no doubt that we welcome people of any gender identity, gender expression and sexual orientation. After the vote Ann-Marie Illsley completed the on-line registry form which was received by the United Church of Christ’s Open and Affirming Coalition. The Coalition notified North Community Church that it had received our welcoming statement and assigned us the member number 1504. This means that we are the 1,504th congregation to become Open and Affirming. We shall receive a formal certificate in the near future. As a congregation let’s be thinking how we can fully live out the welcoming statement in the days ahead. Our future looks bright. The news is on the North Community Church Facebook page. COMMUNITY LEAGUE LUNCHEON Feb. 13
The Marshfield Community League will host its monthly luncheon on Wednesday, February 13th at 12:30 p.m. at the Parish Hall of the North Community Church at 72 Old Main Street in Marshfield Hills. After the luncheon, the speakers will include Plymouth 400 Executive Director, Michele Pecoraro, and P400 Director of Development, Nat Arata. As an important part of the fabric of the Plymouth County, Plymouth 400 is honored to speak to the Marshfield Community League, In addition to discussing the planned Signature Events for 2020 and the ongoing Legacy Projects that will last beyond the commemoration, there will be a short presentation of safety and security plans, the shuttle parking program as well as Business Partnership and Signature Sponsorship programs. Cost of the luncheon is $5.00 for members and $7.00 for non-members .
