Meet Reverend Fred Hayes the new Interim Pastor
Mind the Gap, Please! Mind the Gap!
If you have ever been to London and ridden on their wonderful subway system (the Tube) you would have heard that expression. As the doors open to the cars a recorded voice booms, “Mind the Gap!”. They don’t want you to slip in the opening between the platform and the car.
As the Interim Pastor of North Community Church, I am here to mind the gap. A lot happens when a church is in the process of searching and choosing a new settled pastor. It is an opportunity for the whole community to take a look at the church, its mission, its relationship to its neighbors, its systems and structures. This is often a process that can take up to two years.
The church is a community, a beloved community, that desires that none be lost! We are all charged in this time to be an active part of this interim process. In the months ahead we will be having some special whole church activities to help us understand how we are going forward. Please participate as much as you are able. You are the church, now more than ever! I can facilitate and look forward to doing so but I need all of you.
As I said, we desire that no one be lost in this time. Let me know if I can help you sort out this time of transition. I will be in the office generally every Wednesday through Saturday and also for the Service on Sunday. Drop in and say hello! Call ahead to be sure that I’m not out and about somewhere. I look forward to getting to know you.
If you are new to North Community Church or new to Marshfield don’t pass us by. This is an exciting time and a wonderful time to start to journey with us.
Rev. Fred Hayes
"But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, God’s mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."
